Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Damtop Studio collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit damtopstudio.com or contact us.

Damtop Studio is the video editing, video production and motion graphics business of Damilola Araromi, based in Ibadan, Nigeria. For this website, Damtop Studio is the data controller: we decide why and how your personal data is processed.

We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the regulations and guidance of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Where we work with clients or visitors in other countries, we also aim to respect the privacy laws that apply to them, such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@damtopstudio.com.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to answer you and deliver our services.

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Our contact form, built with the MetForm plugin, asks for your full name, email address and message or project details (required), and optionally your company or organisation, enquiry type (video project or employment opportunity) and project budget. You must confirm you have read this policy before sending. Each submission is stored in our website database on our hosting provider’s servers and emailed to hello@damtopstudio.com so we can reply.
  • When you contact us. If you email hello@damtopstudio.com, or message us through Fiverr or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address or profile details, and anything you include in your message or attachments.
  • Project information. If we work together, we may receive briefs, scripts, footage, brand assets and contact details for your team.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of each visit, to keep the site running and secure.
  • Fonts and embedded content. When a page loads fonts or embedded videos from third parties (see section 3), those providers receive your IP address and basic browser information.

Our website does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data. Please do not send us sensitive information, such as health or financial details, through the form or by email.

2. How we use your information and our lawful bases

We use personal data only for the purposes below, each with a lawful basis under section 25 of the NDPA (and the equivalent GDPR basis where it applies).

3. Cookies, analytics and embedded content

We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies on this website.

  • Essential WordPress cookies. WordPress sets login cookies only for site administrators. Visitors browsing the site do not receive cookies from us.
  • Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Embedded YouTube videos. Some portfolio pages show YouTube videos. When a page with an embedded video loads or you play it, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data under Google’s Privacy Policy. Videos hosted on our own server, such as the homepage showreel, do not share data with third parties.
  • WordPress emoji images. WordPress may load emoji images from s.w.org, which receives your IP address.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where required.

4. Hosting, service providers and international transfers

We share personal data only with providers that help us run the website and our business, and only as much as they need.

  • Website hosting: Hostinger hosts our website, its database and stored contact form submissions on servers located in Brazil, and stores website backups in the United States.
  • Email: messages sent to hello@damtopstudio.com are handled by Hostinger Email.
  • Google: Google Fonts on every page, and YouTube where videos are embedded.
  • Fiverr and LinkedIn: if you contact or hire us through these platforms.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: where required by law, for example for tax records or a lawful request.

Some of these providers store or process personal data outside Nigeria. Our website, its database and stored contact form submissions are hosted on Hostinger servers located in Brazil, and Hostinger stores website backups in the United States, so information you submit through our website is transferred to and stored in those countries. Hostinger Email, Google, Fiverr and LinkedIn may also process data in other countries under their own privacy policies. Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, we aim to use providers that commit to protecting it and to handle these transfers in line with the NDPA. If you would like more information about these transfers, please contact us.

5. Links to Fiverr, LinkedIn and other websites

Our website links to our profiles on Fiverr and LinkedIn. When you follow these links or hire us through Fiverr, your data is handled by those platforms under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Please read the Fiverr Privacy Policy and LinkedIn Privacy Policy before sharing information there.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the NDPC within 72 hours and inform you where required.
